Klackles is a great apple orchard that has all kinds of activities for families. You also get a bag at admission that you get to use to pick your own apples. It cost $8 per person but it was so worth the cost! Amazing things for the kids to do!
My dad and my nephew, Eric. Not sure why Eric looks like he is gonna cry.
Irene wearing a Dora the Explorer hat that Mark's sister, Beth got for her.
Shawn (Beth's son) holding Gavin.
Getting ready for our picnic lunch and birthday cake!
Henry being silly. We met at the orchard and had a picnic lunch. My dad made three (or was it four?) different kinds of sandwiches. He also brought chips, salsa, pickles and a bunch of other things. Without him we would not have had such a good lunch. Thank you, Dad!!!
Henry opening gifts...with Irene helping.
Perhaps we should read the card first?
This gift was from my brother, Matt. It is noisy and rather annoying. I keep reminding him that Christmas is coming and Eric needs a drum set!

Time for us to sing and eat cake!

Cake is so good!!!
Cake is even better when smeared all over your face!
When Eric and Henry saw this they went running. Huge sand area filled with trucks of all kinds. We spent a lot of time here.
My brother Matt holding Gavin. This is on the wagon ride that took us out to the apple orchards.
Beth, Irene and Grandpa Lou on the wagon ride.
More wagon...
Grandma Pat, Shawn, Irene and Beth.
View of the pumpkin patch from the wagon.
Grandma Pat helping Irene pick apples. My favorite part of the day was on the wagon ride back. It was an open air wagon and Irene was sitting on the raised seat. My brother Matt was in front of her sitting on the side of the wagon. Irene was eating an apple but decided to throw it...she hit Matt with the half eaten apple! Matt was rather stunned and I laughed and laughed and laughed and then I text messaged my brother, Pete to tell him about it. We still bring it up! Ah good times, and sibling love!
Pony rides! They also had camel rides and on occasion an elephant!

There was so much for the children to do. This was a tricycle race area. Henry and Shelby were in her for a while. They also had at least four different kinds of inflatable jump things. Plus, a western town we never had time to go in. Animals to pet, school bus to play in, and a lot of other things that I can't even remember. It was a very good time and it was nice to get away for the day. I liked that my kids had a such a fun day too.

That looks like so much fun! It looks like Henry had a really good birthday!!
That place looks marvelous, Nicole! What a fantastic site for a little one's birthday, the kids must have been thrilled :-)
Five is getting to be so big! Plus, c'mon, car cakes are cool (and obviously tasty).
How are you doing? How goes it?
By the way, your dad is clearly a lovely man. Five different kinds of sandwiches! He is the King of all of Sandwichdom, and good grandpa, all in one.
